Windows Phone 7

My WP7 loaner is off to the next dev.  It was a fun week.  Although I wasn't able to push apps, I spent significant amounts of time as a user.  It game me a clear picture as to what to look for when getting a device.
  1. Get a WP7 phone that has a mini USB.  The proprietary plugs are silly and almost insulting to consumers.
  2. The soft keyboard was nice, but I would seriously consider a device with a keyboard.  Both the LG (with the keyboard) and Samsung models are the same size, so why not?
More to come, but for now, here are a few parting pictures:

Eames Lounge Chair Wood

I've been on the hunt for a really good office chair.  My attention keeps getting diverted to a lounge chair rather than a traditional Office Depot desk chair.  I vaguely remember my parents having the Eames lounge chair when I was younger, and thinking it was hideous.  After taking a second renewed look, I can see the beauty in it. Was I wrong or am I getting old?

My first Stop Motion

A few month ago I spent a week in San Fransisco.  It was mostly for business, but I made sure to take the time to catch up with Brandon and go to a Giants game.  My hotel room, at the Harbor Court Hotel, had an amazing view overlooking the Bay Bridge.  It was the first time I had ever been to San Fran, so the first day I honestly thought i was waking up to the Golden Gate Bridge and wondering why it wasn't red.  After a good laugh, Brandon clued me in.

Anyway, I had been wanting to try out a stop motion video for a while, but never knew how.  I talked with a couple guys at Mekanism who are stop motion vets, so I picked their brain.  On my last night, I opened the curtain of my hotel room window, set up a tripod, and tried it out.  The first video captured the changing from evening to night.  The second, I woke up at 4am to replace the battery, and captured the sun coming up over the bay.  Personally, I think the second video is better.  There's something about seeing the changing colors of the sky that gets me.
